Prairie Village, Kan – an electric fire in Prairie Village stores last week is still affecting local business operations.
The main generators were transported by Texas and lined up the parking lot of the shopping center.
“You are dealing with an unknown and you have to make quite big decisions,” said Sarah Jabbour, owner of Scoobie.

SCOOBIE is a boutique of women’s clothing placed along the crossing from where the basement electric fire happened.
Jabbour told the ASHB 41 that the news of the fire went on social media and she was puzzled to compete to see the damage.
“I was first grateful that everyone was okay,” she said. “But you think the worst case scenario.”
In the last two years, Jabbour’s boutique has benefited from successful bosses after season.
“January and February for retail are quite slow,” she added.

“We ordered special things to have here in time and know that we have a short window to sell,” Jabbour said.

“We really got tied trying to understand the storm of the mind, how to still take this product to our clients that are so excited,” she explained. “Who wants to take it and celebrate for their holidays … We are so lucky to be in the shopping center community here.”
While the business seemed to be looking for Boutique, the Gustator Scratch cuisine around the corner faced some constant challenges.
“We went on Friday morning after the fire and our gnocchi, the pasta, everything had now gone from being cold and frozen to digest,” explained Tyler Morrison, the owner. “Our executive chef … He has spent about six hours making raviolis return to service tonight.”

AHB 41 met Morrison at his restaurant around 4pm on Wednesday. Around 5:30 pm, Morrison called to explain power had gone out and he would have to close the operations for the night.
“We had to call all our reserves to tell those we can’t serve,” Morrison said. “We must have the assurance that this will not be something that does not affect us.”
Morrison offered AHB 41 a tour in her kitchen.
He said the restaurant suffered large losses from refrigerators that shortened due to fire, on other equipment, including food and wine losses. The kitchen estimates that total losses vary high $ 75,000.

“I keep all our summer at the right temperature … I won’t serve it in any other way,” he explained. “That’s not how we got up with the 500 best summer lists in the country. It’s not part of our brand.”
Scratch Kitchen recently renewed its current location and was reset last week before the unplanned fire.

“I will sit here and wait patiently. It can be day by day, hours per hour, or 15 minutes, 15 minutes,” Morrison added. “Just just something we will have to work with a lot and we have to find a good solution … or we won’t do it.”
